New Designers 2012

I went to New Designers part one last week for work. I love New Designers and it will always hold a special place in my heart as I exhibited there when I completed my surface pattern degree in 2006.

So six years on I return every year to see the new graduates work. I am continually inspired by the creativity.

These are a few of my favourite exhibitors.

Sarah Levy work entitled ‘Keep Moving’. Sarah explains her work as below:

‘An exploratory study of the choreographed existence of endangered species.

Digital painting and blending brings my hand rendered illustrations of endangered species into designs suitable for engineered fashion prints for womens fashion fabrics for Spring/Summer 2014.’

I loved the combination of the colour blocks on the work, like a colour palette however with descriptive words underneath instead of colour references.

Hayley Dix was exhibiting in One Year On. I loved her wire wonderland range especially how the wire pieces are positioned on branches. The combination works really well and relates back to nature perfectly. This bird design that looked like pigeons caught my eye and made me think of my blog!
