The little details – Rome

My last post from my visit to Italy. The little details of Rome!

I love this close up detail of a shallow basin in the Vatican. Also of a metal grate in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Arnaldo Pomodoro’s “Sphere Within Sphere” (Sfera con Sfera) in the Vatican was very impressive, I loved looking into the deep cracks and seeing all of the detail. You could even see the spiderwebs that had formed within it as well.

The fountain in the Vatican – continually over pouring with water.

Looking out from one of the arches in the colosseum, I liked the contrast from dark to light.

This map in the Vatican museum was amazing, I love the holes and how the light shone through. This photo doesn’t do it justice but I loved the details of the holes. It added something extra and something I had not seen before.

The view from the hotel window – I loved the collection of umbrella’s that gathered as it was raining.
