Helen Bridges is my curiosities for this week. I love her style – the layered screen printing is beautifully done and I love the combination of photo screen prints along with illustrations and text as well to build the image up.
The top two images, Darkness and Brixton Estates, are screen printed onto wood which I feel really lends itself to the images used, theme and style that is coming through in the work.
The bottom two images, Smile a Little more and Be as You Are, are really lovely sentiments. The A on Smile a Little more really makes the whole design of this print stand out. Also it is great use of the phrase Be as You Are used with the skeleton – stripping you back to basics in a sense.
I adore her colour choices and this work makes me want to go to a screen printing studio again!
