Today I wanted to share a bit more about why I started Arnold & Bird and the story then led up to this point.
In 2012 I launched a blog called Arnold & Bird that focused on design, style and music. The posts were super simple, hardly any text and lots of images. At the time I read so many blogs that I felt a pull to write my own.
But I knew I always wanted to start my own business. So the blog was an easy way to dip my toes in and start creating a brand and enjoy the writing process with no pressure.
During all of this, I was working in the retail and e-commerce world since leaving university (where I studied surface pattern design).
I always thought I wanted to be a product based business and design and make products and sell them to customers. So when I first launched Arnold & Bird in 2017 one of the main focuses was on products. Mainly wedding stationery, stationery and prints.
However, I soon realised that being a product based business wasn’t for me. And when I looked at my past experience I realised my purpose is:
Creatively empowering other design-led
souls to make their ideas a reality
So what does this mean?
I’m here to collaborate with you on design and product concepts that are not only inspiring but also meaningful. I’ll provide you with bespoke designs and product development ideas that are right for your brand.
And I do this in four different ways:
- Bespoke graphic design that brings to life the ideas of design-led brands
- Product development advice for creative businesses that are not only inspiring but right for your brand
- Bespoke wedding stationery that brings your ideas from inspiration to reality
- To stylish stationery for design lovers (some products did stay!)
So that’s why I started Arnold & Bird and where I’m at with my business. And in case you may be wondering – Why the name Arnold & Bird? The name originates from my grandparents. My Grampy’s surname is Arnold and my Gran’s maiden name was Bird = a perfect match.
I’d love to know more about your business so please do share your story too 🙂
