Welcome back to the podcast and the first episode is about connecting to your intuition plus it includes a guided meditation!
I wanted to talk about this subject as I recently did some market research about creativity and mindset. And a big thank you to the 75 people who filled this in – I was so happy and grateful!
I found that the reoccurring themes of how people connect to their intuition centred around:
- Taking a walk
- Having space in the day for breaks
- Being in nature
- Listening to music
- Practising yoga
- Doing exercise
- Allowing space for the mind to wander and create a clear mind
Although this list, by far, won out. Creative activities like mood boards and drawing were also good tools to use.
Can you relate?
I was both surprised and unsurprised at the same time! Personally, I find I need space in my mind to be creative and connect to that true voice. And the main way my mind does this is by doing an activity that I don’t have to really focus on. Such as exercise, yoga or baking.
On the flip side, when I asked about the creative process and about connecting to our creativity on a deeper level then results were mainly around:
- It wasn’t a priority
- These activities were often moved to the bottom of the list
- Procrastination happens
Basically all about not having enough TIME!
So what can we learn from this when we want to connect to our intuition?
- Our intuition is available to us at all times.
- We need to listen and believe it is there
- When we hear it, we use it.
- The more we use it, the more it will come.
- But most importantly we must allow it the time and space to come through.
- And more often than not, we don’t give ourselves the time to do this.
So what can you do?
Listen to the full podcast on my thoughts on this. Plus I’ve created a connecting to your intuition guided meditation for you to go deeper with this and connect at the subconscious level.
If you haven’t tried meditation before, or you have and you can’t have a quiet mind. Don’t worry! Meditation is an attempt to let go of other thoughts and this attempt does not have to be successful. Did you read that? The attempt does NOT have to be successful! You just need to have a conscious effort to let go of thoughts and you will still reap the benefits.
Here are the mantras I used in the meditation that you can use as well:
- My intuition is always there for me
- I am working to connect to my intuition on a deeper level every day
